Dallas teen fundraises for sports equipment for Bmp kids
A number of children in Belmopan will get their Christmas gifts closer to New Year’s Day courtesy of a high school student from Dallas. Earlier this year when fifteen year old Carrie Rich visited the nation’s capital with her father she saw children playing football with rolled up paper. When she got back home, Rich, a volleyball player, launched an appeal for sporting equipment. The teen told a Dallas newspaper, “Before we even got our boxes in place, I had schools calling me asking where they were because they were already getting donations. I never imagined that so many kids and parents would start helping right away.” Her mission a success, Rich intends to return to Belize on December thirtieth to give out the items.
