19 year old charged for burglarizing neighbor’s home
It is Christmas Eve, but that does not mean the work at the courts have ceased. In fact a fisherman of Usher Street was today charged with Burglary. Nineteen year old Ivan Jones pleaded not guilty to the charge and Magistrate Albert Hoare adjourned the case until December thirtieth after he offered Jones bail of five thousand dollars. Jones, however, could not meet bail and was remanded to prison. It is alleged that Jones broke into the home of his next-door neighbour, sixty-four year old taxi driver, Fidencio Vasquez, and walked away with a series of items. Vasquez says that on December first while washing his car outside his home, he saw a person running in the upper level of his house. He says he pursued the burglar who jumped over his veranda and into the adjacent yard belonging to Jones. The items: a Ray Ban sunglasses, cash and two watches were subsequently discovered in Jones’ house.
