Bou-Nahra family objects to suicide conclusion
There have been many theories to his death this past Sunday morning and as recent as yesterday a police pathologist said it is a case of suicide. But not so quickly says the family of Chayben Bou-Nahra, the businessman who died from single shot to the left side of his head in a hotel room in the San Ignacio Hotel after he had partied with his girlfriend and had two altercations earlier in the night. Today, the Bou-Nahra family, issued a release objecting strongly to what they say is “the premature conclusion of suicide.” And why? The family contends that all forensic samplings have not been analyzed and a decision should be based on all evidence not only part of it.
Representing the family is attorney Emil Arguelles who explained the legal definition of suicide in a release buttressed by the Halsbury’s Laws of England. And according to the release, the family is expecting further processing of the vital tests which can determine whether it is homicide, suicide or accident that led to the death of the thirty four year old businessman. The Bou-Nahra family says that a post mortem cannot determine who may have fired the fatal shot and the family is expecting final results of the other forensic tests which they deem more important than the post mortem.
The other person in room of the San Ignacio Hotel with Chayben Bou-Nahra was his girlfriend, Evita Bedran. Bedran has now been released from the Belize Medical Associates where she had been receiving treatment for the trauma brought on by the shooting. The family has marked Friday, Boxing Day, as the date of his funeral.
