Shyne’s uncle says case is now entirely handled by Ogletree

Story PictureThe week is almost over and music lovers in Belize and musicians in the United States have been waiting for the latest word about Jamal “Shyne” Barrow also known as Moses Michael Leviy. The rap artist and son of Prime Minister Dean Barrow has been expected to either be released to continue his career in the U.S., or to be deported to Belize this week. News Five spoke to Shyne’s uncle, Housing Minister Michael Finnegan, who gave an update about his famous nephew.

“Professor Ogletree is in total control of the case in terms of the appealing to the governor of New York and in terms of the immigration situation. So the lawyers who were dealing with the immigration part of the case is no more dealing with it. The family has decided to leave all matters in the hands of professor Ogletree. So that is the update on the situation and I have spoken to the family this morning and all indication is that in the next two weeks, according to professor Ogletree, we should know what is the direction this thing is taking. But as I have said to you before, we are optimistic but if worse come to worse, we di do all di necessary preparations at my home, to have him be there. All the accommodations and construction with his own lee money and thing is taking place to accommodate him if he have to come home.”
