Police constable charged with Bigamy

They are supposed to uphold the law but tonight a police officer finds himself in all kinds of trouble with the law and his own comrades have to charge him for allegedly committing the crime of Bigamy. The charge against Constable Luciano Jaime Pena followed a report by Mrs. Ruby Pena, a teacher of Corozal Town who told police that she had been married to Constable Pena since February seventh of 1998. She said she filed for and was granted a legal separation in March of 2007, only to find out that Constable Pena had gone ahead and married another woman after the Easter Holidays while still being married to her. But this is not the first time that Constable Pena has been in trouble for his love life. Late last year he had been placed on interdiction from duties after he was accused by the same Mrs. Ruby Pena of domestic abuse. He was recently reinstated to his duties after he was found not guilty of that charge.
