8 year old succumbs to bone cancer in the U.S.
Eight year old Rashale Arana, who was battling with bone cancer, a condition referred to Osteosarcoma, passed away earlier today. Arana was in the U.S. receiving therapy and was looking forward to returning to her family and friends here in Belize when shortly before ten this morning, she succumbed to the illness. On December ninth, we reported a happy and rejuvenated Arana who saw hope and found courage after Doctor Steve Miller, who suffered her same fate, made her a new pair of legs. She was scheduled to return next March. Arana lost both her legs earlier this year and seven months ago, with the help of the International Hospital for Children, she was referred to the U.S. to seek specialized medical care.
