How much was stolen in cheques from SSB?
Five days after the armed robbery at the Social Security office on Princess Margaret Drive, the Board issued a press release on the incident. And the amount the Board is saying the two thieves got away with on Monday when the incident occurred was far less than the media has reported. In fact, SSB’s figure is a little over fifteen hundred dollars cash. But the institution never reported how much in cheques was stolen. While no one was hurt in the incident, the Social Security says it will offer counseling to anyone needing or wanting it as a result of the incident. As a matter of safety, SSB says its transactions are done primarily by cheques and online banking.
