And there are more deaths to report tonight. A fatal traffic accident in the Toledo District has claimed the life of a high-ranking police officer. Around five Saturday evening, Inspector Floyd Reynolds and Corporal Eugene Benguche were en route to Punta Gorda in a grey Chevy Tracker when Reynolds, who was driving, lost control of the vehicle. The SUV finally came to a stop after flipping several times, landing with its four wheels in the air. Reynolds suffered severe head and bodily injuries to which he succumbed while being transported to the Southern Regional Hospital. Benguche received minor injuries has since been treated and released. Inspector Reynolds was the Commanding Officer for the Special Branch, Eastern Division in Belize City and has been in the police force for the past sixteen years.
