Safiyyah highlights weekend activities
Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is What’s Happening Belize? Our last installment for 2008, can you believe it?
The Dangriga Rotaract club will be having their Miss tropical beauty pageant tonight. The six young contestants are all between the ages of ten and twelve. The price to enter is only ten dollars for adults and five dollars for students with ID card and three dollars for children. All the proceeds will go towards the Dangriga community development and literacy program. The pageant begins at six p.m. and will be held inside the Father Marin Parish Hall.
The Dangriga Rotaract club is also inviting everyone out on Sunday, twenty-first of December to view their lighted boat parade. This is the second year they are having this event and all the proceeds are going towards purchasing gifts for underprivileged children. They’re also inviting all boat owners and organizations to enter their boats for only thirty dollars. For more information you can contact 660-9002 or 664-9429.
If you are looking for somewhere to go next week Thursday, then you can check out Club Next. Signature promotions will be having a party called “Black Out”. The party will be featuring sounds like Tagg International, Belizean Movements and Madd Squad to name a few. So you are all invited to check that party out on the twenty-fifth night.
On the twenty-fourth in Dangriga there will be a party called ‘Til John Kunu’. Tickets are only ten dollars and there will be gate prizes, like turkeys and ham. There will also be a two hundred dollar give away for the best John Kunu dancer. There will be performances from New Rebels as well as Continental Cat, and many others.
And if you’ve been looking out recently, them I’m sure you’ve seen the Mitsubishi Grunder that’s been taken all over the country recently. Well, Royal Motors wants you to know that you have the opportunity to own that very car for only ten dollars a chance. The 2008 luxury vehicle includes one year paid insurance as well as duty and taxes already paid. Inside the car you’ll find leather interior, mp3 player and DVD player. You still have up to the thirty-first of December to purchase your ticket. And on the thirty-first you can go up to four and a half miles northern highway where the ticket will be drawn at noon, during the day they will have refreshments and entertainment.
