Two men pay Friendship restaurant with counterfeit bills
Shopping increases considerably during the Christmas season and criminals are using it to their advantage to slip in some counterfeit notes. That was the case for Friendship Restaurant on Hummingbird Avenue in Belmopan. Around nine last night, thirty-one year old Qun Fang Tan told police that two men, one Caucasian and the other of Hispanic descent, known to her as “Castaneda”, entered the premises. The men ordered beers and paid with twenty U.S. dollars. It wasn’t until after they left that Qun says she realized that the currency was fake.
