Plastic Explosives case thrown out of court

Story PicturePlastic explosives are as dangerous as grenades, and on June twenty third three Belize City residents were found with PE4, British plastic explosives. And today in the court of Magistrate Robert Ordonez, another blow to the justice system and the police department occurred as another police officer failed to show up for trial. The police prosecutor could not proceed and attorney for the accused, Kareem Musa submitted that the case be thrown out, and Magistrate Ordonez agreed. As a result, twenty-three year old Nicky Pollard, twenty-two year old Leslie Gillett and thirty-one year old Genevieve Milligan walked away free from the court. Earlier this year police searched a house at the corner of Plues and Berkley Street and found a half pound of PE4 explosive, a smoke grenade and a sawed-off twelve gauge shotgun. The three accused were charged with possession of explosives, having an unlicensed gun and ammunition and possession of controlled drugs.
