Intl Women’s Club gives hampers to needy families

It’s a week away from Christmas and while some are making seasonal purchases there are families that can’t afford to do so. But many are doing what they can to bring joy to needy families at this time of the year. One organization that is trying to spread good cheer is the International Women’s Club. Today the group was preparing hampers to be delivered to the Hand in Hand Ministries Outreach Center.

Susan Singh, President, Intl Women’s Club of Belize
“The club has been in effect for twenty years and we just had our twenty year anniversary at the Biltmore Hotel in November. The club basically was put together as a way of having new comers to Belize meet and become friends with the locals and just for them to meet ad socialize. And their main purpose was to raise funds to give scholarships to young ladies and also to help underprivileged women and children.”

Brenda Stuart, P.R. International Women’s Club
“Every year the club identifies organization where we donate hampers. This year we have identified Hand in Hand Ministries, the out reach center. Thirteen families from that center will be getting hampers from us this year. The hampers include rice, beans, klim, milo, flour.”

Susan Singh
“If anybody would like to join the International Women’s Club of Belize, they can simply call one of the members. My number is 610-2224. they can call that and definitely we would be happy to have them.”

Singh says the hampers will be delivered tomorrow.
