Parolee back behind bars after making threats
A butane maintenance worker and cabinet maker is spending his first night behind bars. Thirty-nine year old Philip Neal, was sentenced after he slipped into the home of his ex-wife, Dawn Lambey early this morning armed with a machete and threatened to chop her. Neal was on parole for the last seven months but after his offence this afternoon, he might also be facing the remainder of his previous sentence. He pleaded guilty to the charge of assault and told Magistrate Edd Usher that he was taking the rap because he had no one to bail him. He begged the court for leniency and was fined a thousand dollars. Neal’s previous offence was for burglary.
