Pantempters Christmas Fantasia III premiers at Bliss
They have become a household name and have come a long way since they first began performing sixteen years ago. And this holiday season, the Pantempters are hosting their third Christmas Concert on Tuesday night at the Bliss. The concert, entitled Christmas Fantasia Three, will provide good family entertainment and Publicity Director, Akintade Atkens, says they have been preparing for three months and the show will be one of a kind.

“This year’s concert promises to be filled with unparallel excitement. In fact, with the tremendous hard work and dedication that the band members have put into organizing the concert, we believe perhaps it will be the concert of the year. We see pan music as something worthwhile, something that we want to nurture in Belize. Sometimes hearing the word steel band or steel orchestra, the perception that people get is that it’s just a group of pan music being played by some people and most times the perception also is that steel pan music is not danceable. It is danceable and of course, you can actually get a lot of energy from steel pan music. Irrespective of the preference that you have in music; be it soca, be it dancehall, reggae, you will find all these flavours in our Christmas line-up of songs.”
The Pantempters started as a musical band by Sir Colville Young in 1992 at the then University College of Belize and it has grown to earn much respect from the public. Their repertoire includes bruk dong, soca and local rhythms. The concert starts at seven p.m. sharp and tickets are available at the Bliss box office at fifteen-dollars for general admission and reserve, twenty-dollars.
