Construction worker charged for attempting to steal car

Donovan Clarke
A Ladyville resident who tried to steal a woman’s Toyota Camry from near her home is today out on a three thousand dollar bail after he was slapped with charges of Attempted Theft and Damage to Property. This morning, Donovan Clarke, the Ladyville construction worker, was arraigned in Court before Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb-McKenzie. It is alleged that on April second, he attempted to steal a burgundy Toyota Camry belonging to Dalja Chan, a resident of Princess Margaret Drive in Belize City. Chan reportedly parked her car in front of her home where she allegedly saw Clarke inserting his left hand into the vehicle through a side window triggering the alarm to go off. Clarke pleaded not guilty to the crime and is due back in court on June fifteenth.
