Thieves rob D’s Diner and burglars escape with $49,500 in O.W.
But the crime wave is not limited to the city; it extends to other parts of the country. In Orange Walk a thirty year old resident, Vanessa Briceño, reported that while she was away between December 2009 and April eighth 2010, her home was broken into. The thieves must be happy campers because they got away with forty-nine thousand five hundred Belize dollars in assorted jewelry. Along with that burglary, police now have an armed robbery on their hands because after three o’clock this afternoon two thieves targeted D’s Diner on Princess Margaret Drive. Yearwood also shared the details on that robbery.
Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Press Officer
“So far I just gathered that two male persons approached the diner; one armed with a firearm and demanded that they hand over the cash. A little more than eight hundred dollars was handed over to them and they made good their escape. The information is still coming in on this so I’ll have to update you later on on that.”
Delahnie Bain
“Any idea if any customers or anyone were inside?”
Fitzroy Yearwood
“I’m not certain because this was just reported to the police.”
