The medical condition of nineteen year old Luisa Carillo looks promising tonight and the student is showing encouraging progress.  We can report that all went well overnight and that doctors have pulled her out of an induced coma.  She is now off life support and is breathing on her own.  Her brother, Esvin, told News Five today that the family hopes that by Saturday she will be able to communicate with them.  Plans are also being made to transfer her from the Intensive Care Unit to the general ward at the Belize Health Care Partners where she is being treated.  Luisa was the teen who fell from the speeding D & E Bus onto the Western Highway near Succotz Village last Saturday night as two robbers, one armed with a grenade, held up its passengers and crew.  Aside from the robber who was stabbed to death, and the other who was kicked through the door, Luisa was the only other person who was injured in the incident.
