First Tek It or Leave It contestant wins $1,800

You have been waiting for it and now the first episode of Channel Five’s highly anticipated game show, Tek It or Leave It airs tonight at eight. The show was recorded last Wednesday night at the Bliss in the presence of an electrifying audience. In this game of chance, each week, a member of the studio audience is chosen and can win up to five thousand dollars in cash. The first winner of Tek It or Leave It, Karen Dawson from San Ignacio, Cayo, walked away with big money last Wednesday. The following morning, Dawson shared with us how excited, moved and happy she was.

“I’m really, really, really, happy about winning that amount of money. You know, playing the game, at the end of it, I realized I probably would have gotten much less, so I am happy for the amount that I picked and I was nervous as hell.”

“How did it feel going through the process, you know it’s something new for Belize and everything so what was the feeling going through it and how did you cope with it?”

“Well going through it, it was pretty nerve-wrecking honestly, but I did it, I stood there and I completed it and this morning I was thinking to myself, mein I made so much money in such a short space of time, you know, it’s pretty exciting.”
