Instruments of Love bound for Jamaica but need help

Story PictureIn other news, Belize has no shortage of talent and musicians who produce excellent music. And some are trying to make it big on the international scene. Take four singers from the group, Instruments of Love, who may not have gotten too much attention at home, but are getting a lot from the music industry in Jamaica. Today they dropped by our studios asking the public for help to get their music to reach a higher level.

With money from their own pockets, four youths made music and a CD. And since they released a video from their debut album “Too Hot to Handle” in September, it appears that they are ready for someone to handle them. These unsigned artists need a manager.

“We are together over three years now. Dah wah variety ah music, reggae, dancehall, hip-hop, R&B, you know mix up together. A whole fun mix of music. Three ah we start music from church you know and we just love music, have a passion for music. So all of us work together to form a strong group. So right now at this moment the group deh together we have some video things popping right now.”

“Well so far we get a whole heap of exposure, di MySpace di dot coms, everything turn up right now pan wah level dat we di represent Belize fully. If yo watch di video pan di top ten countdown, before di video start yoh wah si wah big Belize flag behind di video. Dehn seh dat dah only music out ah Belize weh di push di music to dah level deh and compete ova deh wid di music dehn international right now fi put out deh inna di world. So right now we deh dah wah level weh if we reach Jamaica, di door wah really open up fi we and all Belizean artist weh di come behind we fi get wah lee marketing out deh and get wi thing process across di world and different triangles and angles weh RE TV branch out too.”

“So what’s in Jamaica for you, what are you waiting for?”

“We waiting for a fund. We came together with wah estimate ah all di works and di three weeks tours dat dehn have plan out for us, a PR Manager and everything and di problem right now is just to come up with fifteen grand fi really financially set everything; the three weeks tour, the bookings, the back and forth. We came four weeks straight on the RE TV MVP top ten countdown. It was there four weeks straight understand, I no really check the charts to see weh we deh but last time we checked it, it was number ten we mi deh.”

With a video on the Caribbean music station RE TV, they got the attention of Torie and Shaes Production in Jamaica, who they feel will make their music an income earner.

“The company owner of Torie and Shaes, he pushed Cecile and Damien “Junior Gong” Marley. These are artists that he already pushed. He da mi fi dehn entertainment consultant and public relations manager, you know. So this guy, he has everything set up fi we in a Jamaica so we just need fi reach deh.”

The band members hope to make their December seventh flight to Jamaica, if not their dreams will have to be deferred. Reporting for News Five, Jose Sanchez.
