Eldon Thomas freed of trafficking 40lbs of cannabis

Also in court, a Security guard who was charged with Drug Trafficking a few months ago is today relieved of the charge. On April eleventh, the police searched an apartment building on Flamboyant Street and they saw Eldon Thomas running out of the building into some bushes in a vacant lot. When the police searched the bushes they found a sack that contained cannabis and a blue scale in a carton box. Since Thomas was at that scene, they arrested and charged him with trafficking nearly forty pounds of cannabis.

Director of Public Prosecutions, Cheryl-Lynn Branker-Tait, perused the file and realized that there was no evidence to link Thomas to the drugs that were found. So today in the Magistrates’ Court the case was struck out for want of prosecution.
