At around one-thirty this afternoon, primary school students streamed out of exam centers with a weight lifted off their shoulders after completing the second half of the Primary School Examinations. Today’s papers were in Math and Social Studies, two subjects that put the students to the test. We caught up with a few of them after the exams to find out how it went and how prepared they were to sit day two of the PSEs.

Namita Balani

“It was challenging, but alright.”

Delahnie Bain

“Which one did you fine more challenging?”

Namita Balani

“The social studies because it has to do with facts and history and geography so that’s the most challenging of all.”

Delahnie Bain

“How long had you been preparing?”

Namita Balani

“Well we had been preparing since the start of standard six.”

“It was challenging.”

Delahnie Bain

“You think you were prepared enough?”

Syomara Torres

“Kind of; well the math was challenging.”

Delahnie Bain

“What kind of preparation did you do?”

Syomara Torres

“I went to classes, I did tutoring.”

Holy Redeemer Student

“I prepared the whole of standard six with my parents helping me and my teachers and I took Saturday classes and extra tutoring so I can be prepared for the exam.”

Delahnie Bain

“So after all that preparation, were you nervous this morning?”

Holy Redeemer Student

“No, I felt confident.”

Delahnie Bain

“How was the PSE for you today?”

Christopher Requeña

“It was kind of challenging but I have a good feeling that I did well on it.”

Delahnie Bain

“Were you nervous this morning?”

Christopher Requeña

“Not quite.”

Delahnie Bain

“Which of the subjects did you find more difficult?”

Christopher Requeña

“The math problem solving.”

Daniel Gongora

“The school has been drilling us since January; giving us drills in math, English, social and science.”

Delahnie Bain

“And after day one and two, how do you think you did overall?”

Daniel Gongora

“I think I did quite good”

Delahnie Bain

“Were you nervous?”

Daniel Gongora

“A little bit but I got over it.”

Delahnie Bain

“How did you find today’s exam?”

Jordanny Williams

“Easy.”

Delahnie Bain

“Both of them?”

Jordanny Williams

“Yup.”

Delahnie Bain

“Okay, what kind of preparation did you do?”

Jordanny Williams

“Mostly at school, just listening in class, practicing in class too, going over a couple stuff and formulas for math and for social, that’s my best subject and I usually do the best in class so that was easier for me.”

The results should be known in June of this year.
