Car flips at new Belize City roundabout
And in Belize City, a traffic accident occurred after eight-thirty this morning on Princess Margaret Drive when two vehicles were travelling side by side coming from the direction of St. John’s College towards the newly constructed roundabout. A Toyota Corolla driven by Selita Lisbey was on the inside lane and the Mitsubishi L200 on the outside lane was being driven by Pamela Smith, a teacher at St. John’s College. According to bystanders, Smith turned on her left indicator, to go around the roundabout. When Smith attempted to overtake the car, she hit it on the right side, and it immediately flipped over with Lisbey and her dog Cocoa inside. Lisbey, a Belizean American, was wearing her seatbelt and received minor injuries to her arm while Smith was not injured. The Corolla was severely damaged and it was removed from the area shortly after.
