Passenger nabbed for carrying marijuana on bus

A Santa Elena resident boarded a bus a free man but came off it a prisoner. On occasion criminals use public transportation to peddle drugs. But one man did not consider the fact that his parcel of marijuana had a strong smell and a police officer was sitting nearby. On Wednesday, an officer boarded a bus in Benque Viejo and when the bus reached between miles seventy-one and seventy-two on the Western Highway, he smelled weed coming from the direction of the seat where twenty year old Ervin Monroy was sitting. The officer conducted a search of a plastic bag Monroy had in his possession and found five hundred and thirty point twenty grams of marijuana. Monroy, a resident of George Price Street in Santa Elena, was immediately arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking.
