Another shooting in a hotspot, Mayflower resident shot twice

Earlier in the morning before Andre Trapp was murdered, gunshots rang out in the Mayflower Street area of Belize City.  When the smoke cleared one Belize City youth had to be rushed to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is clinging to life.  No one has been arrested for the crime and according to police press officer Fitzroy Yearwood an investigation is ongoing.

“One Nelson Henry, he received what appeared to be two wounds in the back from gunshots noh.  Initial investigations reveal that he was shot sometime around nine-fifty-eight this morning in the Mayflower area.  He was transported to the KHMH where he is listed in a critical, but stable condition.  Motives for his shooting—we are not certain as yet, but investigators are investigating.”

“Do you know if it may have been as a result of an altercation between him and someone else this morning or did someone just rode up on him and opened fire?”

Sgt. Fitzroy Yearwood

“We are not certain if he was involved in an altercation as such.  I know that at the time the doctors didn’t want the investigators to question him because they had to examine him and make sure that he was stabilized noh.  So, sometime today I will be able to answer that for you.”

The shooting of Henry, according to police, is not related to the murder of Trapp.
