James Adderley weekly sports recap
“Good Evening I’m James Adderley and this is Sports Monday and we’re off to the Santiago Ricalde Stadium, where Nizhee Corozal hosted a surging City Boys United as the world turns insides the Belize Bank Super League. The host team goes to the set piece with a quick goal when this floater from Edward Perez finds Russel Casanova whose header is denied by the horizontal bar. At the other end Jason Young tries to link up with Dalton Cayetano, only to see the goalkeeper pull of a perfect intervention. Now watch, Darnell Mossiah display his skills, so much so, that he forces Mark Grant to concede an early penalty. Antonio Castillo lines up behind the ball and Charlie Slusher is beaten as Nizhee takes a 1-0 lead twenty-four minutes in. City Boys look for the reply when Jack Dawson gets this chance and he tarries a split second too long, allowing Canul to make the stop. City Boys came right back with this set piece triggered by Deon McCauley that bounces dangerously in front of the Nizhee goal, forcing the keeper to react.
We’re in the second half when, McCauley sets the ball perfectly to Dalton Cayetano, who has no excuse for not converting right here. Seventy minutes into this ballgame and the City Boys display perfect passing to provide Deon McCauley with this shot at goal and he gives his team the equalizer. Still, Nizhee Corozal wants all three points so Julio Tun picks out Michael Whitaker but his hear sails over the crossbar. Big Edward Perez then displays his mobility, beating one man and then fires a dangerous left foot shot that forces Charlie Slusher into a big time save. Both teams settle for the 1-1 tie.
