James Adderley’s weekly sports wrap up
“Good Evening I’m James Adderley, this is Sports Monday. The battle for the lead in the Belize Bank Super league standings rageed at Hattieville yesterday, where Hattieville FC hosted the deadly Placencia Assassin. Folks we must apologize for missing the ninth minute goal scored by Ashley Torres; but right here Torres centres to Mervin Leslie who pushes the pill across the goal mouth to Leonard Valdez and at the nineteenth minute of the match Placencia take a 2-0 lead. Nine minutes later Torres looks for his second goal of the match with this push that he somehow raises over the goal from point-blank range. There’s no doubt that Placencia is in control of this ballgame ,when number eleven fires this errant shot but we must confess there’s no number eleven on the rooster we got. At the half Placencia Assassin is up 2-0. So we go to the half and we’re nine minutes in, when Jarret Davis triggers this spot kick with absolute perfection as Hattieville FC pulls one back. The Assassins invite further problems when goalkeeper Stephen Lopez handles this ball outside the eighteen and is red carded off the field by referee Pelayo. At the other end Ashley Torres fires this great right foot shot; but is denied his second goal of the match by the keeper. Nevertheless, Hattieville FC continues its search for the equalizer but they fail to connect on this offensive press. The Assassins then try to secure the three points, when Elias Donair tries this left foot that sails over the crossbar. It’s more Placencia as Lyndon Brooks gets this look at goal and begs for a penalty on the obvious push but the referee disagrees. Placencia Assassin goes on to post the 2-1 big W and stays on top pf the field.
