No arrests in Dangriga and Belize City murders

And in an update to the murders in our newscast on Tuesday, police have not yet made any arrests in the stabbing deaths of thirty-one year old Liping Zhen and thirty-three year old Yue Lian Liu but they say they are following up on a few leads to solve the slayings in Dangriga. A police source told News Five this evening that it is believed the culprit lives in the area where the incident occurred, on Mahogany Street in the Back-a-town area and police believe they are closing in on the culprit.

Liping Zhen and Yue Lian Liu were stabbed to death just before midnight on Monday at Zhen’s house where they and two others had gathered to play card games. All of them were attacked and tied up by a man wielding two knives who robbed them of over a thousand dollars before stabbing them. The other two victims, Xue Na Yan and Jian Conc Yan have been treated and released from the Southern Regional Hospital.

Meanwhile, there are no arrests yet in the case of the third murder victim, Kevin Hendy, that occurred in Belize City on Monday night. Hendy was gunned down on Central American Boulevard.
