Safiyyah’s weekend entertainment and festivals for the family
Rains are expected over the weekend, but organizers are still going ahead with a number of events. Rain won’t stop the Crimestoppers Yard Sale but just in the case the rain keeps you indoors there is still a long list of activities to lift any bad weather blues. Safiyyah has the scoop on this weekend’s parties.
Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is what’s happening Belize? Can you say Lobster Fest?
This weekend it’s all about Lobster fest, and it’s all going down on the island of Caye Caulker, starting tonight with Miss Lobster Fest 2010. This is taking place inside the Caye Caulker central park. The event will be hosted by our very own William Neal and Channel 7’s Indira Craig. There will be five lovely ladies vying for the title so you won’t wanna miss it.
Another spot you can hang out for lobster fest is an after party called Island Invasion happening both on Friday night and Saturday night. This will be going down at the Palapa Beach Resort Garden. The dance will feature Tagg International, Selecta Clearance and international Remix Masters.
On Saturday and Sunday there will be all day beach parties with lots of games, entertainment, enjoyment and of course delicious Lobster meals. This the 16th annual lobster fest taking place in Caye caulker.
If you can’t make out to Caye Caulker there are plenty of things you can do all over the country. Like tonight down south you can check out the Ladies night happening inside Club Llagulei. The music will be provided by Crown heights and DJ Allo.
Also happening down south is the Birthday Bash for Continental Cat taking place inside Club Malibu. This party will kick off at 10pm and will feature Griga Boys, Orson Pickart, Consigo and others.
If you’re in Belmopan on Saturday then you can check out the play ‘Treasure being performed inside the George Price Center. The show which was also preformed here in Belize City will begin at 7pm.
Also happening Cayo side this Saturday is the party called Night Life: The Summer is Hot. This will all be going down inside the Storks Club in San Ignacio. Music will be Provided by Stone Jam and Cloud Nine Sounds.
A Big concert you may enjoy is taking place in Orange Walk at the Lamanai Riverside Retreat on Saturday night. This concert is being put on By Carlos Perrote as well as some of Belize’s top performers. There will even be performance by Carlos Carrillo from KTVL. Go out and enjoy the Afro Jazz, Latin Music and much more. The show will begin at 8pm.
Another performance you may enjoy is by dancers. This Saturday the Ballet Art School will be having a show called ‘Coppelia’. This will feature performances by the ballet students from this story as well as other classics. The show will take place inside the Bliss center of the performing arts at 7pm.
