Security guard accused of stealing from employer
Yet another security guard has been accused of stealing from his employer. Today’s alleged culprit is thirty-eight year old George Banner of Oleander Street, an employee of Alliance Security. Company manager, Herbert Sankey reported to police that while Banner was at his post, Buccaneer Landing at mile four and a half on the Western Highway, he broke into the building. Banner is accused of stealing an assortment of liquor, soft drinks and his work-issued handheld radio. The security guard was picked up by police on the Tuesday, the same day of the burglary and appeared in court this morning. Banner pleaded not guilty to the charges of Burglary and Theft and was offered bail of five thousand dollars. His case was adjourned to December twenty-second.
