Now its time to find out where the best burritos in Belize City can be found, voted by you.
Saffiyah Mohammed, Reporting
Hey we’re here at the Princess to check out the best burritos voted by you. Princess is not the first place you would think of when you think of burritos but hey you texted it in and now I’m checking it out. So let’s do that.
A burrito or taco de harina is a type of food found in Mexican and Mexican American cuisine.
Alex Alvarez, Chef, Seaview Restaurant
“Good evening, my name is Alex. I’m the chef here at Princess Hotel and Casino and the Seaview Dining Restaurant. First of all, we’re gonna go ahead and do our famous burrito; it’s a traditional burrito. I’m gonna sate my onions, fresh parsley flakes in there and I’m going to go ahead and use a little bit of tomato. I’m gonna go ahead and start with the beef. I don’t know about you but I like a little red wine when it comes to red meat just to give it that nice exotic flavour. It has little salt, all the natural flavours are in there. The tortillas are humongous for these burritos. I’m gonna go ahead and put a little but of beans in there then we go with the meat. I like the taste of parsley, I didn’t put in here so I’m gonna go ahead and put a little bit in there now. Then we’ll go ahead and put some mozzarella cheese and put it in. now there’s a special technique when it comes to folding a burrito because you really gotta know what you’re doing here. So we’re gonna go ahead and stretch it out, fold the ends. You fold the ends, fold it in half, fold the ends almost perfect. That is your authentic burrito.”
That’s a hefty burrito. It’s really, really, really good, as you can see. Alright guys, I’m gonna attempt to finish this burrito here today. Alright, check you out next time. Bye.
