Armed men ambush and rob farmer
In news from the police blotter, a seventy-four year old farmer from the village of San Juan in the Stann Creek District reports that he was attacked by three armed men at his home this past Tuesday. The farmer, Juan Albueno Perez, reported that he responded to a knock on his front door when he heard someone calling his name and asking for diesel. When he opened the door, Perez says three armed men rushed inside, one was armed with a sixteen gauge shotgun and another with a machete. He was tied up, his head was covered with a shirt, and he was taken to his van that was parked in front of his house. Perez reports hearing sounds of a truck and pigs being placed inside the vehicle. The ordeal lasted for about an hour and when he managed to free himself, Perez discovered that several items were missing from his house including two thousand five hundred dollars in cash, a sixteen gauge shotgun with related ammunition and a cell phone.
