Trio gets seven years for aggravated burglary

Story PictureIn more news from the Courts, three men charged with Aggravated Burglary were sentenced to seven years after they were found guilty on this past Tuesday. They are nineteen year old Julian Ebanks, twenty-eight year old Kenrick Reneau and twenty-six year old Nicholas Gordon. The burglary occurred on the night of March sixth, 2007 on Blue Marlin Boulevard at the home of forty year old businessman Jude Nagendian.

When he was called to testify, Nagendian told the court that after hearing a noise inside his home, he encountered three masked men, one of whom was armed with a pistol. The gunman ordered him to freeze and he was taken to a room where another occupant of the house, Jacklyn Melgar was already being kept. An assortment of jewelry belonging to Melgar and Nagendian were stolen along with a point thirty-eight pistol, a point twenty-two rifle, a Sony Laptop, and a canon camera.

While the robbery was taking place, a third occupant of that residence, Richard Johnson, arrived and was shot as he opened the front door. Johnson ran and hid himself in a boat, but the intruders found him and relieved him of his point thirty-eight pistol and jewelry. Before leaving, the robbers helped themselves to Johnson’s video camera and IPod. The three defendants did not testify or give a statement from the dock.
