Man charged with attempted murder for hitting older man
He hit a seventy-five year old relative with a stick, and he is now facing charges of Attempted Murder and Grievous Harm. The accused, twenty-two year old Gilbert Conorquie, a resident of Rivero Street, reportedly struck his older relative Gilbert Lodge this past Tuesday. When Lodge was examined, a doctor classified the injury to his head as Grievous Harm. In court today Magistrate Tracy Sosa explained to Conorquie that no plea will be taken from him and that the court could not offer bail. He was remanded in custody until November twenty-first. But before Conorquie exited the Court, Magistrate Sosa inquired if he was well, to which Conorquie replied that he is not because he is a mental patient. The Magistrate then ordered that he is to receive a psychiatric evaluation while in prison.
