Sikaffy residence hit three times in one month
And in other news, very ambitious thieves attempted to rob the Sikaffy residence on Bishop Street, not once or twice, but three times in the past month. Located next door to Kings music, on the third floor of the building that houses the Magistrates’ Court and a Smart outlet, you would think that the twelve feet high fence and barbed wires would deter criminals, but according to Beulah Sikaffy, who has lived there since 1980, last night the thieves broke into the residence and stole some of their valuables.

“Sure enough they pried out the door with a wheel spanner. They left the spanner upstairs. I walk inside the house and the jewellery boxes were all on the floor then I noticed that my husband’s gold Rolex watch was missing and his gold bracelet with his name on it. The gun was on the floor, the boxes and everything were all on the floor. There were some other jewellery on that drawer that they didn’t take and it was only that drawer that they took the jewellery from. Apparently they didn’t even have time to open the other drawers.”

“So you think someone was coming and they just ran and left?”
Voice of Beulah Sikaffy
“I believe that when my niece went in she probably slammed the door and they heard because my room upstairs is close to where the door is. They may have heard the noise and then maybe they ran and left. How they got in the yard, I don’t have no idea.”

“They left the gun also.”
Voice of Beulah Sikaffy
“They left the gun in the house; his nine millimeter licensed. About a month ago my husband found a guy in the yard, when he came down early one morning. they had cut the barbed wire, climbed through the barb wire, under the razor wire; jumped down on the canopy inside the meter system and they got in the yard.”
Sikaffy says she will offer a reward to anyone who returns her husband’s Rolex.
