Accused Calvary Temple robber appears in court

Story PictureIn news from Magistrates’ Court in Belize City, a Salvadoran national, thirty-nine year old Juan Jose Lozano, who is accused of burglarizing Calvary Temple Primary twice in three days, was charged with two counts of Burglary and one count of Handling Stolen Goods when he appeared in court. Lozano wanted to take a guilty plea in respect of the second count of burglary but Chief Magistrate Margaret Gabb did not accept the plea. She entered an equivocal plea of not guilty and remanded Lozano into custody until November twenty-seventh. The first burglary occurred between October fifteenth and sixteenth. One desktop computer and its components were stolen. The second burglary took place on October seventeenth. The burglar this time broke into the restroom, of the school and stole a white bathroom wash basin. On the same day at around eleven-twenty p.m., police were on mobile patrol in the area when they spotted Lozano walking on Regent Street West carrying a big bag. Police searched Lozano and found the stolen wash basin which is now exhibit for the case. Lozano was detained and charged.
