Inmate gets three years for drug trafficking
A prison inmate serving time for burglary has been sentenced to an additional three years in prisons for drug trafficking. The inmate, thirty-six year old Emerito Reyes, got lucky in the sense that his new sentence will run concurrently to the five year sentence he is serving so that he has three years more of jail time. Reyes pleaded guilty to the drug trafficking of sixty-seven grams of cannabis which were found on him at about twelve-thirty p.m. on Saturday. Magistrate Tracy Sosa told Reyes that she could fine him ten thousand dollars but instead gave him the custodial sentence since he was doing time. Reyes was busted with the cannabis that was in a black plastic bag stuffed inside the front of his pants.
