Two charged in connection with courtyard shooting

In news from the Belmopan courts, Michael Broaster and Reginald Ruiz were charged with Attempted Murder, Use of Deadly Means of Harm and Dangerous Harm of Noel Herrera. Broaster was additionally charged with discharging a firearm in public. In the incident near the Belmopan court house, Herrera was injured on the right side of his face. Investigating officer, Alma Mortis, told News Five that Herrera was attacked by two men after eleven on Monday morning. Upon reaching in front of FirstCaribbean Bank, twenty-three year old, Reginal Ruiz, known as “Manna”, became embroiled in a heated argument with Herrera. Thereafter, thirty year old Michael Broaster, also known as “Chronic”, pulled out a chrome handgun and fired a single shot at Herrera. The shot grazed him. Police believe that the incident is gang related.
