Two busted with two pounds of cocaine in Cowpen
Two people, including a Belizean have been charged with Drug Trafficking after they were busted with almost two pounds of cocaine. At around three-thirty on Monday afternoon police searched thirty year old Belizean Dennis Robert Young of Aloe Vera Street in Belize City and twenty-two year old Vashtay Forbes Kentish, a Costa Rican national, who came off a boat from Honduras that docked at Big Creek Port. A search on Vashtay resulted in the discovery of a pack of suspected cocaine weighing eight hundred and fifty grams—in her underwear. They were both arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking.
Meanwhile, On Monday, police conducted an Anti-drug operation about a mile and a half northwest of Progresso Village in the Corozal District. As a result, two marijuana fields were discovered: one, containing about four hundred marijuana plants ranging between two and six feet in height; and the other, containing about two hundred and fifty plants between one and four feet in height. A small thatch camp was also discovered near the fields and they were all destroyed by fire. No one was found in the area.
