Mopan River drowning victim still not identified
The body of a man that was found in the Mopan River in Succotz Village on Monday remains unidentified. A post mortem has confirmed that the man died from drowning and police do not suspect foul play. The body which was decaying is described as about five feet four inches in height. The deceased was wearing blue jeans with no shirt. Benque Viejo police told us today that they have consulted their Guatemalan counterparts and have tried to find out if the body matches the profile of any missing persons. They have, however, had no luck in putting a name to their John Doe.
