John Briceño speaks about upcoming P.U.P. National Convention
The opposition People’s United Party is gearing up for a national convention on October seventeenth in Dangriga. Up to now, John Briceño, the leader remains unchallenged and most of the posts in the National Executive are also likely to go uncontested as Briceño puts his imprint on the new executive, which is looking like a combination of the old and new. The intention of businessman, Luke Espat from Port of Belize, to challenge Senator Eamon Courtenay as National Campaign Manager, has been worked out. According to sources within the PUP, Espat and Courtenay had a sit down on Monday where it was decided that Espat will instead be accommodated in the Executive to head logistics. On Monday we caught up with Briceño and he made it no secret where his loyalty lies.
John Briceno, Leader, P.U.P.
“It is no secret that Senator Eamon Courtenay has been the past National Campaign Manager and also that he and I have a very special relationship and I do expect that he will also be the next National Campaign Manager that will lead us to the election in 2013.”
