Minor and watchman charged with handling stolen goods
A watchman and a minor have been remanded to prison for the theft of a music system from a car. They are eighteen year old Wayne Herrera and his seventeen year old friend. The two were charged with Theft, Handling Stolen Goods and when they could not meet bail in Magistrates’ Court, they were promptly deployed to the Hattieville prison. At around five-thirty yesterday morning, police intercepted the duo on the northern highway and when they were searched, police found a Kenwood CD player and four CDs that were reportedly stolen from a 1993 Isuzu Stylus car belonging to Daniel Francis of Driftwood Bay in the Lake Independence area. Herrera and his accomplice allegedly broke into the vehicle while it was parked in front of Francis’ residence. The stolen items were identified by Francis’ girlfriend, Josephine Waller. Herrera and the minor are scheduled to return to court on October twenty-ninth.
