Two drug busts at San Pedro airstrip
Police in San Pedro are reporting two drug busts which both have the airstrip in common. Around three-twenty on Friday police say they were on mobile patrol in the San Pedrito area when they noticed a dark-skinned male hurl an item over the fence into the Tropic Air compound. Police found it to be a red T-shirt wrapped around two plastic bags of suspected cannabis weighing in at a hundred and eighty-two grams. As a result, police arrested and charged twenty-five year old Shannon Alvarez with Drug Trafficking.
Around nine-thirty that same night, acting on a tip, cops searched an area near the airstrip and found eight hundred grams or just under two pounds of suspected cannabis. As is usually the case, no one was in the area at the time.
Meanwhile, police in Benque Viejo nabbed one of their own during the search of a house. On Saturday cops visited the home of twenty-seven year old Philbert Leslie with a search warrant to look for controlled drugs and found twenty-one year old police constable Anthony Guzman on the steps. A search of the house and Leslie turned up a half pound of weed and two point eight grams of cocaine. Both Leslie and Guzman were charged with two counts of Drug Trafficking.
