Escaped prisoner back in jail, two others still on the loose

Story PictureBut there is one criminal less off the streets as one of three inmates who escaped from Hattieville Prison earlier this month is back in jail. Twenty-two year old Guatemalan Rene Lopez Morente was surprised and captured on Wednesday near the Mopan River in Benque Viejo. Acting on information they received, police visited the area and in a cave near the bank of the river they found a Hispanic man with two bags of clothing who they recognised as Morente. On September seventh, Morente along with Guatemalan, Rene Ramos, and Belizean, Raul Barahona escaped from the correctional facility during a black-out. Morente has been taken back to prison and will be charged for escape. He was in prison serving time for Aggravated Burglary and Murder. The two other prisoners, Ramos and Barahona, are still at large.
