Foul play ruled out in death of Peace Corp Volunteer

And in an update to the death of Bertie Lee Murphy, the seventy-two year old Peace Corp who was found dead in her home on Tuesday September ninth, the cause is still yet to be determined. As we had previously reported, there were two theories to her death, the first that she died of natural causes and the other that there could have been foul play since the woman was found without underwear.

According to reports to News Five, the results of the post mortem are inconclusive due to the advanced state of decomposition. It is also known that Murphy had a history of hypertension and it is believed that she may have died from either a heart attack or as the result of a stroke. Sources also confirm that there nothing unusual in Murphy’s home and that the door was locked from the inside further dispelling speculation of foul play.
