Mark James remanded, pleads not guilty to robbery
A second accused wanted in the jacking of Orange Walk businessman, Celso Leal, appeared in Court today and was charged with Robbery. He is security Guard, forty-six year old Mark James, who appeared in Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to the charge. James, along with accomplice Richard ‘Richie’ Russell who was charged yesterday for the same offence, allegedly robbed Leal on Sunday of five thousand eight hundred dollars. Leal reported to police that he got into a Camry car that he intended to purchase from the duo and after handing over the cash, instead of getting the keys to the car, a black handgun was pointed to his chest and he was forced out of the vehicle. Magistrate Albert Hoare could not offer James bail because the offence was committed with a firearm. Both James and Russell are now scheduled to return to court on October fifteenth.
