Sexual crimes against minors continue to increase

Meanwhile, a man is in police custody awaiting charges of Unlawful Carnal Knowledge following an early morning raid at a house where he was found with a fourteen year old naked girl in bed. The raid occurred at a house in the Saint Martin de Porres area. A doctor has since examined the girl and has confirmed that she has been sexually active. According to reports to News Five, the girl left her home in the Port area about three months ago to live with the man.

And in a related case, a seven year old from the island of San Pedro also became the victim of sexual abuse. The female child, in the company of her mother and a nurse, told police that her step-father had sex with her last Wednesday afternoon when he took her home from school.

In another case, we recently reported the rape of two teenagers in Belize City and tonight, there is yet another complaint of rape in the same area. A sixteen year old girl reported to police that about six-thirty on Friday evening she was on her way home when a dark-skinned man with a dread hair-style forced her into a green car and took her to a house in the Antelope Street area. The teen says the man then had sexual intercourse with her against her will. Police have since detained a suspect pending charges.
