Hondurans plead guilty to Possession of False Documents

On Monday evening, police responded to a call from the S.S.B. on Princess Margaret Drive where three Honduran nationals identified themselves as eighteen year old Jose Luis Montero, twenty year old Irbin Zetina, and thirty year old Henry Vasquez, who claimed to be fishermen in Mango Creek, were applying for social security cards. Police found the trio to be in possession of false birth certificates in the names of deceased persons. Today in Magistrates’ Court, the men were charged but they had brand new identities. Montero, Zetina and Vasquez are now identified as eighteen year old Celestino Saldivar, his sixteen year old brother, Humberto Saldivar and their thirty-six year old cousin Melin Javier Lopez Anita. The Honduran Nationals were charged with Uttering a False Document, and they pleaded guilty. Magistrate Roberto Ordonez ordered each of them to pay a fine of seven hundred and fifty dollars forthwith or in default, each will serve seven months behind bars. After their guilty plea was accepted an alternative charge of Possession of False Documents was dismissed. The trio, who admitted that they entered Belize illegally, said they paid a hundred dollars for each certificate so that they could get social security cards.
