Mexican hitman linked to murder of Mennonite

Story PictureWe start our newscast tonight with a report from Mexico that a dangerous Zeta hitman, held since the weekend and linked to the execution of a Mennonite contractor, has been charged today. The Mennonite contractor, Wilhelm Braun, was gunned down execution style at the Commercial Free Zone on August twentieth and it appeared that the murderers had disappeared from the radar. But on Friday night, Carlos Leonel del Angel Moctezuma was caught by Mexican authorities as he crossed into Mexico. He has been in custody since then and today he was charged with Possession of Illegal Weapons, which in this case is exclusive to the Mexican army.

Tonight we have photos of Moctezuma as he was apprehended by Mexican police at their border check point Subteniente Lopez. Moctezuma appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. When Mexican police asked him to exit the vehicle, he pulled out from under the seat a submachine gun with a silencer which discharged accidentally.

So why has he not been charged with murder? That is because Belizean and Mexican police are working together to compare the ballistics records of the weapon seized from Moctezuma and the expended shells retrieved from Braun’s murder scene to verify if the Uzi was the weapon used to kill the Mennonite contractor.

Moctezuma is a prize catch for Mexican Police as he claims to be a member of the highly dangerous Zeta group that works for the Mexican Gulf Cartel.
In addition, Moctezuma is wanted by Mexican authorities for a previous murder in that country.
