Price Premier jacked of undisclosed sum
Robbers struck close to home this afternoon when they hit Price Premier Products just a few yards away from this station. According to reports to News Five, two assailants walked into the store pretending to be customers at around three o’clock today. Two employees, sixty-two year old Gilda Schmidt and fifty-eight year old Robert Simplis were the only ones manning the wholesale and retail business downstairs when they were surprised by the jackers.
This was the scene of a robbery around three o’clock this evening on Regent Street. Schmidt and Simplis, residents of Belize City, were attending to customers when they realised that two of their walk-ins were actually robbers. Both assailants entered the premises and inquired the price for a can of pineapple juice. Simplis informed News Five that when he gave the requested information, he was held at the neck and prevented from screaming for help. The other assailant then took out a gun and pointed it at Schmidt and forced his victims to the backroom. The robbers got away with and undisclosed amount of money from the company’s cash pan. Schmidt found her purse had been rummaged through and over twenty dollars in cash were missing.
The assailants were two dark-skinned male individuals who wore sunshades. One of the assailants was in black trousers and white t-shirt, while the other was in a striped shirt and dark trousers. Both assailants escaped and Police are now looking for the suspects.
