66 year old man cornered and robbed

A sixty-six year old man was jacked by three men in Belize City last Friday. Miguel Alberto, a Honduran national, was riding his bicycle on Mapp Street just after ten p.m. when he was attacked by three robbers. Alberto says the men surrounded him and one of them knocked him off his bicycle. When he fell to the ground, the three men proceeded to rob him of seventy-two dollars cash and his cell phone and then made their escape. Alberto, who attempted to catch the robbers, signaled a passing police vehicle and informed them of what had just happened. The police were able to catch one of the three robbers shortly after the incident. Twenty year old, Peter Myvette, a fisherman of Tanoomah Street was arrested and charged with Robbery in Magistrates’ Court today. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was offered bail of four thousand dollars which he was unable to meet. His case was adjourned until October eighth. Police reported that upon searching Myvette, they found the stolen money and cell phone.

And in San Pedro, a bar was robbed at gunpoint early Sunday morning. Thirty-one year old Jonas Saintyl reported to police that shortly after midnight, two men wearing masks walked into his business place, the Black and White Bar located off Sea Grape drive, pointed a pistol at him and robbed him of cash and jewelry. The total value of the goods was three thousand three hundred dollars. The robbers didn’t stop there, and before they made good their escape, they proceeded to damage the tires of Saintyl’s golf cart.
